Greek and Turkish Cypriot parties agree to work together

July 2016

Greek Cypriot and Turkish Cypriot political parties have expressed their joint concern about the tragic fires in Solea region and their solidarity to the inhabitants of the area.

They also expressed their deep sorrow for the loss of lives.

The parties commited themselves to working together in reforesting all affected areas in Cyprus.

The leaders and the representatives of Cypriot political parties met last Wednesday for their regular meeting at Ledra Palace, under the auspices of the Slovak Embassy.

The parties, according to a joint statement, have agreed that "reunification through a wisely structured federal solution will guarantee a long and steady development for all Cypriots in our country and should be a lasting solution."

The next regular meeting of the leaders and the representatives of the political parties will be held on Wednesday 28 September, 2016 at the Ledra Palace.
