A new beach club, inspired by European resorts such as
Mykonos and Nice is set to open up soon at the Glenelg
beach.
"Thanks to the support from City of Holdfast Bay
Council, we’re offering South Australians the
opportunity to enjoy a beer on the beach in a relaxed
and family friendly environment," says The Moseley’s
Operations Manager Luke Donaldson.
The Moseley Beach Club will be open 7 days a week,
offering 8 premium sun beds and 48 sun lounges. It will
also feature a casual dining area, bar, live acoustic
music week nights and DJs on the weekend, fitting up to
350 people.
A similar type of business venture was earlier proposed
to take off at the Henley beach but was defeated by the
public and local businesses who claimed the move would
lead to the privatisation of our beaches and rallied
against it.
The developers of this venture obviously based the idea
on the European experience. The plan however, will be
very difficult to succeed at this end of the world as
weather conditions are very different to European where
constant summer conditions last for six months compared
to a much shorter summer season and frequent cool
changes experienced in Adelaide.
