Flood recovery the focus as clean up continues

April 2025 Recovery efforts are in full swing across southeast Queensland and northern NSW, after ex-Tropical Cyclo-ne Alfred caused widespread damage, flooding and power outages. The region saw over 13,000 emergency callouts, while 50,000 properties remain without power. As floodwaters recede, businesses such as supermarkets and fuel stations are working around the clock to restore supply chains, while authorities assess coastal erosion and plan sand replenishment for affected beaches. Despite the devastation, the Queensland government is urging tourists to keep their Easter plans, highlighting the state remains open for business. Financial aid is being rolled out for affected communities.
