Cyprus Festival attracts large crowds
March 2026
The 11th Cyprus Festival 2026, held in perfect weather conditions, took place at the
premises of the Cyprus Community of South Australia in Welland.
This year’s festival was better and larger than ever before, featuring music bands and
dance groups, while the Premier of South Australia, Peter Malinauskas, announced that
the State Government will provide $40,000 in annual funding for four years.
Also in attendance at the Cyprus Festival were the Minister for Police Joe Szakacs,
Minister Tom Koutsantonis, Mayor of West Torrens Michael Coxon, Mayor of Charles
Sturt Angela Evans, the High Commissioner of Cyprus Antonis Sammoutis, and many
others. More names of local identities can be found on the pages featuring photographs.
The local community’s dance groups delivered outstanding performances, particularly
the Cypriot group and the Dance Academy of the Greek Community.
